SHACHAR COHEN-HODO
Pasadena Unified Project Manager

Shachar Cohen-Hodos (she/her) PUSD Project Manager, grew up in Los Angeles engaged in local faith-rooted organizing. As she was exposed to the political landscape of Los Angeles, she was drawn to restorative practices that put people’s humanity, needs, and relationships at the center of problem-solving.

Shachar completed her undergraduate degree at the Joint Program between the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University followed by her completion of the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs in New York where she cultivated her facilitation skills and strengthened her resolve that sustainable social change comes through building deep relationships.

Upon her return to Los Angeles, she worked with Groundswell (formerly OC Human Relations) as a Sr. Restorative Justice Specialist where she spearheaded a whole-school approach to restorative justice practices at an Orange County Middle school. Additionally, she has served as a facilitator for MAJIC: Muslims and Jews Inspiring Change a NewGround high school interfaith dialogue program. She strongly believes that building the skills of navigating conflict for our communities' youth will help build a just world. She is honored to work with so many youths across Los Angeles who remind her of this every day.
