ALEXIS CHANG
Conflict Resolution Education
Program Coordinator
Alexis joined the WJC Programs Team in November 2021 as a Program Coordinator. She graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelor’s in Sociology. Alexis's background is in restorative justice programming with justice-involved youth and adults to support in lowering recidivism and supporting formerly incarcerated folks reintegrate back into the community. With her background in restorative justice practices, she hopes to continue creating lasting restorative alternatives to punishment alongside community partners and educators. She believes that youth should not be treated with punitive measures, but rather, with restorative justice practices that are centered through a trauma-informed lens, especially when working with underserved and underrepresented youth living at the margins, to prevent arrests and suspensions/expulsions among youth of color.
Alexis is also experienced in developing and managing program events, coordinating with volunteers to help lead community services, resources and event planning activities. In her downtime, she enjoys a good gym workout and playing board games.
