Supporting Our Community During the Eaton Fires
At Western Justice Center, we understand the challenges that local nonprofits, community organizations and individuals are facing due to the ongoing Eaton Fires. In times of crisis, it is crucial that we come together to support one another, and we are here to help.
As part of our commitment to the community, the Maxwell House is offering free meeting space to displaced organizations, nonprofits and community partners who need a place to gather, work or support those affected by the fires.
Availability of Free Meeting Space
We know that many of you are in urgent need of a safe, free, comfortable place to meet, collaborate and continue your important work. The Maxwell House, located in Pasadena (55 S. Grand Avenue), remains committed to being a space of refuge and community support during this challenging time.
Current Status: Beginning Monday, Jan 13, we will be open Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm. Special requests can be made for large gatherings and weekend use outside of business hours as well.
How to Request Space
If you are a nonprofit, organization, or community partner who would like to utilize space at the Maxwell House, we ask that you please contact us in advance to confirm availability. Our goal is to make this process as smooth as possible for everyone in need of a safe space.
Please reach out to Colin Dueweke at colin@westernjustice.org to inquire about space availability and to confirm office status.
Our Commitment to the Community
We believe in the power of community, especially during times of crisis. While our physical doors may be temporarily closed, our hearts are wide open. We are here for you, and we will continue to provide space and support for our neighbors and partners who are doing the vital work of recovery and care in the aftermath of the Eaton Fires.
Let’s stay connected, support each other and rebuild together.
