A Bold New Theme: “Youth Rising: Bridging Divides, Building Futures”

As new laws and policies at both the national and local levels present fresh challenges, it’s more important than ever to empower students to rise above and lead the way toward a brighter future. This theme highlights the incredible power of young people to unite communities, inspire change, and create the futures they deserve.

 

Two Days to Meet Growing Demand

PMI has expanded to two days! With participation soaring, we’ve created dedicated days for different age groups to ensure everyone gets a tailored and enriching experience.

  • February 19, 2025: Elementary and Middle School Students (Grades 4-8)

  • February 26, 2025: High School Students (Grades 9-12)

 


The Teacher’s Lounge: A Space to Connect and Share

Educators - relax, recharge, and network with fellow mediation mentors in the new Teacher’s Lounge. Share challenges, gain fresh insights and other restorative justice and trauma-informed practices from professionals and peers dedicated to empowering youth through mediation.

 

Student-Led Workshops on Hot Topics

Students, step into the spotlight! PMI 2025 will feature workshops designed and facilitated by your peers, diving into the issues that matter most to you and your schools. This is your chance to lead, learn, and spark important conversations.

 

Craft Your Own Talking Piece with Meztli Projects

Explore the intersection of art, culture, and mediation in this hands-on workshop with the Indigenous-based arts and culture collaborative, Meztli Projects. Create your own unique talking piece while learning about the cultural significance of this tool in fostering respectful dialogue.

 

Interactive Games for Better Communication

Sharpen your skills with our fun and interactive communication games and activities workshop! Designed to help students practice active listening, build confidence, and tackle conflicts effectively, this session is all about empowering you to be the best mediator you can be.
