PASADENA PMI
Tuesday, May 21, 2025 | 9am-1pm
Maxwell House, 55 South Grand Ave. Pasadena, CA 91105
On May 21, Western Justice Center and the Students Working With Students team will host the Pasadena Mini Peer Mediation Invitational (Mini PMI) — a dynamic, one-day event bringing together nearly 100 middle school students and staff from six Pasadena Unified School District campuses.
This year, as students continue to navigate the challenges of uncertainty and the aftermath of the Eaton fire, Mini PMI offers a powerful space for connection, healing, and leadership.
What to Expect
Students will:
Learn and practice real-world conflict resolution skills
Collaborate with trained Mediation Mentors
Experience the power of peer-led solutions and restorative practices
Build confidence, voice, and a deeper sense of belonging
Call for Mediation Mentors
We’re looking for 15-20 Mediation Mentors to support and guide students throughout the day. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to the field, your presence can make a meaningful impact.
Help us create space for youth to rise, reflect, and reimagine what’s possible.
To volunteer, email Alexis@westernjustice.org.
What Mediation Mentors are saying about PMI:
“Joining PMI as a Mediation Mentor is a truly rewarding experience and a way to pay it forward. I’ve attended the last two PMIs and have been floored by the energy, bravery, and dedication exhibited by the students.
— Caari Maas, WJC Boardmember
“These kids are future leaders. And you’ll feel good about playing a small part in their exciting personal journeys. You’ll have fun. You’ll be impressed. And you’ll feel inspired!
— Allan Edmiston, WJC Boardmember
